PARK AND RIDE IN LOFTUS IS FREE, NO BOOKING
. Please note I didn’t have to put this info up. I did it to help others like me who are going to the matches and can’t find info. It was very difficult to find this info as info is all over the place. I can’t answer all the questions you have to ask Tshwane host city yourself if you can’t find it here. I don’t work for FIFA or Tshwane. We are a home industry support system.
Park and Ride is free, Booking is NOT required if you want to use the free Park and ride facility to the Loftus match on 19 June 2010. Call the Tshwane Hotline on 012 358 2580 and was told that we can just park at one of the locations free (Eastern Park & Ride etc) and get onto a shuttle/ bus. No booking/ payment necessary. I suggest anyone call the hotline 012 358 2580 for info regarding Pretoria related SWC queries – very helpful.

| Whether you are coming from outside Tshwane and straight to the stadium or from elsewhere in Tshwane, here is how you will get to Loftus Versfeld Stadium on match days. Remember to leave in good time to be in the stadium at least an hour before kick-off.
Soccer Trains Due to the large number of fans who need to get to the stadium, this is the preferred mode of transport. Special 2010 FIFA World Cup “soccer trains” will be provided to all Gauteng stadiums on match days. The soccer trains will stop at selected stops along the way and in Tshwane will drop fans off at Rissik Station, a 5 minute walk form the stadium along a dedicated walkway. Park and ride by train A park and ride by train will operate from the Pretoria Station. Fans can park their vehicles and catch a train to the Loftus Versfeld precinct. Shuttle from Pretoria Station A special 2010 FIFA World Cup™ shuttle service will operate from the Tshwane Regional Transport Hub at the Pretoria Station in the CBD to Loftus Versfeld Stadium and will drop fans off an easy 500m walk form the stadium. Parking at Loftus Versfeld Stadium Those choosing to drive to the stadium or coming by private coach or other road transport will use the park and ride or park and walk facilities. Loftus Pretoria road closure information
| Revised access restriction plans for Lofuts Versfeld Stadium |
| The dates for the road closures around Loftus Versfeld Stadium have changed from the original plans communicated to stakeholders and in the media in March and April 2010. The following information outlines how these changes will affect communities as well as the process to follow to obtain a Vehicle Access and Parking Permit (VAPP) for match days.
The first phase of closures, called soft lockdown, during which the roads immediately around Loftus will be closed to through traffic will now be implemented on he evening of Sunday 23 May 2010. No VAPPs will be needed for this phase. The broader road closures, or full lockdown takes place on match days only, including any matches that may beheld before the tournament begins. Soft Lockdown (from 22h000, Sunday 23 May)
The following outlines how residents, schools and churches in the area will be affected and accommodated for this period.
From 22h00 on Sunday 23 May, there will only be access restrictions on the roads immediately surrounding Loftus only, namely Kirkness and Ayton Streets and part of Lynnwood Road. Although no VAPPs will be needed, only residents, affected businesses (clients and employees), school staff and learners and churches will be allowed access at an access control point and only traffic aiming to pass through the restricted zone will be turned away. On 9 June, after the schools close, part of Park Street will be added to the soft lockdown access restricted area. Affected parties are being asked to use the following traffic flow patters:

Match Days: Full Lockdown VAPPs will be needed on the six match days during the FIFA World Cup, as well as any other matches which take place between 22 May and 10 June (there is a possibility of matches but these dates are not confirmed) During full lockdown, vehicles without a VAPP will be restricted from entering a much larger area around Loftus. Full lockdown will take place on the six match days. On these days, traffic will be intercepted at two boundaries, or traffic zones: Traffic Warning Zone (blue line on map) All traffic will be stopped at the boundary of the traffic warning zone and those without a VAPP will be diverted around the stadium area. Any vehicle without a VAPP wishing to enter the traffic warning zone will be asked to report to the info point in Farenden Street (between Arcadia and Schoeman Streets) for an onsite application.
Traffic Free Zone (orange line on map) All vehicles, even those with a VAPP, will be intercepted at this second zone and only traffic destined for specific addresses inside the traffic free zone will be allowed in. Those who do not need to be at a destination inside the traffic free zone will be diverted around it. Those without a VAPP with a valid reason to enter the traffic free zone will be able to obtain a VAPP from the Information Point in Farenden Street (blue icon on map).
Map 3: traffic restricitions on match days Residents and businesses are urged to take note of the confirmed full lockdown days: 13, 16, 19, 23, 25 and 29 June 2010 Information Points Information officers will be posted at all major intersections in the traffic warning zone from 7 hours before kick-off on match days (09:00 on most match days). For the full duration of the soft lockdown, an official Information Point will be operated in Farenden Street between Arcadia and Schoeman Streets as indicated at point (2) on the map. Match Parking Due to the access restrictions of full lockdown on match days, dedicated parking will be set up at the Park and Ride venues at the University of Pretoria Sport Campus: LC de Villiers (Eastern P&R) and the Pretoria Sport Union grounds (Southern P&R), where shuttle buses will transport fans to the stadium and at the “Park and Walk” facility at Pretoria Technical High School in Park Street from where spectators will move on foot to the match. Your site informs that no access is allowed without a park and ride ticket. (VAPP) However no mention is made of where it can be purchased from ???? I tried at Checkers computiceket at Kempton Park Cavendish Glen mall but they did not know what I was talking about.???? Where can I buy a park and ride ticket in advance for the Serbia vs Ghana game on the 13th in advance of the game?
The points where the park annd ride tickets can be purchased should be more convienent to find.

Need to find out if there is a cost to be paid if we will drive by car to the Eastern Park & Ride and get on the bus/shuttle to take us to Loftus for the match on the 19th June.

The fact that the PARK AND RIDE IS FREE is great. Although it would save a helluva lot of time if this is mentioned in BIG BOLD LETTERS all over the place instead of having to wade through the entire articles text and eventually a comment. Like another user @Gerhard i too spent lots of time checking all over the place for “tickets”.

Adri – doubt you must use Eastern Park & Ride. LC de Villiers or SA Sport Union are the facilities to get to Loftus.
I think Eastern Park & Ride is only if you need to go to Jhb.
you mention that the park and ride is FREE, but that does not mean we dont have to BOOK. Please confirm whether booking is necessary or do we just ARRIVE at one of the Park and Ride points and catch a lift?
