Assistant Professor of Economics
Shariq Mohammed is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Northeastern University. His research interests lie at the intersection of labor economics, economic history, and development economics.
His current research focuses on two central and related questions: how does access to opportunities and other socio-economic outcomes differ across groups (e.g., race, gender, caste), and more importantly, what policies can help bridge this gap.
Prior to joining the Northeastern economics faculty, Professor Mohammed was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Arizona.
