Double the Thrills
TerriGMavens· Review provided by booksamillion.com · April 25, 2024
I've been waiting for book 3 of Gabrielle Meyer's Timeless series. FOR A LIFETIME is a nail-biter with insights into one of America's upsetting time periods-the Salem Witch Trials. Now, add to this suspenseful premise the time-crossers are twins! Double the intrigue and double the trouble.

THE STORY: Identical twin sisters Grace and Hope are time-crossers who simultaneously live in 1692, as daughters of a tavern owner during the Salem Witch Trials in Massachusetts, and 1912, in New York City as an aviatrix and a journalist. As their 25th birthday approaches, they will each have to choose one life to keep and one to leave behind forever-no matter the cost.

Hope has already decided which timeline she will choose, however, Grace would rather stay in another time. Still, Grace won't leave her sister and plans to sacrifice her desires to be with her sister. When an unthinkable tragedy complicates the future they had planned for themselves together, their decisions aren't as firm as they had thought. As their birthday approaches, what will determine their decision? Their sisters' relationship? Their loves? Or will fate make that decision for them?

Gabrielle's attention to historical details about the history of aviation and the horrors of the witch trials lend believability to the story. Highly recommend reading the author's notes where she gives even more insights to these moments in history.

Highly recommend to readers of historical romance, dual-timelines, strong female characters, science fiction, and clean, Christian fiction.

I received an ARC from the publisher for my honest review.
incredible time-crossing adventure

"Life is full of twists and turns. We can't always predict which way it will go, but it's a magnificent journey when we let it take us where it wants."

Gabrielle Meyer's imagination and beautiful storytelling never cease to amaze me. I did not think she could invent more twists and turns in this time-crossing saga but she absolutely has! Traveling between 1692 Salem and 1912 Florida/California/NY, Hope and Grace take turns in first person narration with seamless transition. Their halves truly make a whole as the story unfolds. There are plenty of gasp-inducing surprises in the plot as well as sigh-inducing romance. The way the first three books of the series follows three generations of time-crossing women is extraordinary and unforgettable.

Hope is vibrant, impulsive, adventurous, and outspoken. Grace is compassionate, kind, thoughtful and passionate in righting injustices. Hope thrives in the fast-changing world of 1912 whereas Grace finds purpose and contentment in both timelines. I loved their twin connection and that they held onto their love for each other even when things kept going terribly wrong in both places and times. Isaac in 1692 and Luc in 1912 are both patient, generous, loyal, and resourceful. Both men know both sisters in their timelines and how the romance plays out for each sister is exquisitely tender and infinitely fulfilling. There are many tear-inducing bittersweet moments as well as heartbreaking moments, especially in Salem during the trials.

This book is a must read. It is the perfect blend of history, romance, and a bit of sci fi. It is one of my favorites reads of 2024. I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Baker Publishing via Interviews & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
Absolutely Fabulous Story! A Must Read!

If I could give this book TEN STARS, I would! With an intriguing storyline that captivated my attention, dynamic characters who stole my heart and two alternating timelines that rotated between two POV's, I wholeheartedly fell in love with this story.

HIGHLIGHTS:
The Salem Witch Trials - Time-Crossing Twin Sisters - Women in Early Aviation

For a Lifetime is a thrilling tale of adventure and mystery (and a new favorite one my shelves!).

From the heavy darkness through the period of witch trials in 1692 Massachusetts to the bright, sensational days of women making flight history in 1912, dual stories happening simultaneously, I found myself propelled through this book at an exciting pace that held me captive. Twins, Grace and Hope, are well-developed characters that each bring something unique to the story with their vastly different, yet bold, personalities and make it that much more compelling.

Rich, interwoven threads of faith, sisterhood, duty and sacrificial love are displayed throughout the book and I found myself in tears towards the satisfying ending.

I loved how the intricately researched historical events of this story were presented in an entertaining way. I found the book to be well-written, creative and 100% A MUST READ! Can't wait for the next release in this series and to read this author's backlist as well!

*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to post a positive review.
Fascinating Time Crossing Romance!

"It had begun."

Time-crossing twins, Grace and Hope Eaton (in 1692 Salem Village, Massachusetts) Cooper (in 1912 New York City) have just a few months to decide which timeline will become their forever life. Neither are particularly drawn to Salem where the burgeoning witch trials have thrown Puritan loyalties into a whirlwind of fear and confusion, masking hidden agendas and personal vendettas swirling around even the most prominent of families. Their Salem father is an esteemed member of the local community, but has misrepresented details about the girls' deceased mother, sparking dangerous curiosity amongst his daughters.

During the days when the girls reside in New York, Hope has an exciting new career looming on the horizon, as she takes to the skies as one of America's first female pilots, while Grace works tirelessly as an investigative journalist fighting for justice with merely a pen and paper. When both young women are threatened by tragedy in each setting, will they be able to discern God's will for their future when their hearts have become entwined with another?

"God knew what I needed more than I did. So I simply asked if He would sit with me, to be my Comforter, my Peace, my Rock amidst the storm."

Fascinating! How the author managed to tie up all the loose details into one amazing story is beyond my comprehension, making this my favorite story in what has become a genre all its own.
