Marginellid gastropods are a prominent and well-preserved element in five well-studied and sampled Neogene stratigraphic sections of the Cibao Valley of the northern Dominican Republic.

We document a speciation event between two species of prunum (Marginellidae: Gastropoda) in pliocene strata of the northern Dominican Republic.
