‘Stinking black water’ floods into famed Acapulco beach

This is the moment Acapulco made waves in social media for its “black water” – a sewage outbreak that soiled the famed Mexican beach resort.

A person recorded the vile sight from a hotel room after a three-month coronavirus quarantine that had improved the quality of the beach.

“The constant outflow of black water lasted approximately 25 minutes, which came with a lot of pressure,” an eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous told Reuters.

“They were very stinking waters, they made me nauseous,” the person added.

The Guerrero state government denied on Facebook that the water was part of the drainage system or a rupture of a sewage tank.

The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources is investigating the spill, according to Reuters.
