Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach

Luxury Meets Coastal Ambience at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach, Cancun

Unparalleled service. Exquisite attention to detail. And one of the most beautiful beach settings in Mexico. This is the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach, a gem in the pantheon of Cancun resorts. A place I’d return again in a heartbeat.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and some still apprehensive about international travel, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the safety protocols at this resort. From mandatory masks in public spaces, hand sanitizing on arrival to the resort, and each time stepping off the elevator, and frequent temperature checks, I honestly felt safer here than in many places in the U.S. The resort’s corporate parent has even launched a Travel with Confidence Protection plan with optional travel and medical expensive coverage for $4 USD per day.

From the perspectives of both a travel writer and 35-years as a nurse, I give this resort an A+ for its adherence to safety standards and the confidence it instills in its guests.

Resort Accommodations

Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach is an unpretentious all-inclusive luxury spa resort with a classy casual elegance and a relaxed coastal vibe. The resort boasts 602 all-suite oceanfront and ocean view accommodations, each with a private terrace overlooking the tourmaline waters of the Mexican Caribbean. Both the lobby and hallways feature lush cascading greenery.

The resort is perfect for couples, families, honeymooners, and weddings. And sunsets here on Coral Beach are simply breathtaking.

Spectacular Amenities

Guests will look far and wide to find such an impressive array of resort amenities. These include a world-class fitness center overlooking the Caribbean Sea and complimentary marina activities such as kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkel gear.

The resort sports a large meandering lagoon-like swimming pool surrounded by swaying palms and a tropical palapa-roofed swim-up bar. A private secluded stretch of white sand offers plenty of chairs and umbrellas for guests. Even the lifeguard stand has its own palapa thatched-roof. Luxury day beds and beach cabanas can be reserved for an extra fee — but amazingly, this amenity also includes massages, sparkling wine, snacks, and more.

The Coral KidZ Club provides a myriad of activities designed for children aged 3 to 12. The club recently completed a $2 million renovation incorporating the latest technology trends.

Dining at the Resort

My impression of the seven incredible dining venues at Grand Fiesta is that this isn’t just about the impressive cuisine (and it is impressive). Rather, this is a total foodie immersion experience— from the cozy, comfortable ambiance of the lobby bar, and festive bikini beach bar, to its distinguished themed restaurants.

Dinner at La Joya- The Table, is an unforgettable digital, interactive experience taking guests on a journey through the history of the Yucatan Peninsula accompanied by an 8-course gourmet dinner. This fantastic dining experience showcases traditional regional foods matched with hand-selected wines and artisanal beverages. All while a magical table takes diners on a cinematic historic journey through time. It’s incredible!

Le Basilic is one of only a handful of restaurants in Mexico to hold a AAA Five-Diamond distinction. Featuring French-Mediterranean cuisine under the guidance of famous Parisian Chef Henri Charvet, this elegant venue pairs the freshest of local products with award-winning wines. If you’re looking for foodie heaven, you’ve found it here.

Viña Del Mar offers a champagne breakfast brunch with spectacular views of the Caribbean from an outdoor terrace or their beautiful white and gold bi-level dining room. Isla Contoy is a casual beachfront canopied palapa eatery featuring fresh seafood and Mexican delights along with stunning beach and ocean views.

Rejuvenate at Gem Spa

One of the most beautiful spas in Latin America and the Caribbean, the 40,000-square-foot cosmopolitan-chic Gem Spa offers an incredible array of body and personal pampering treatments. With 26 rooms integrating marble floors, Italian mosaics, fine woods, and waterfalls, the spa’s myriad of choices ranges from chakra-balancing to hydrotherapy rituals, and signature massages. Gem is truly a transformative, relaxing, impressive, and unforgettable Zen-like experience. This spa also recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation, and the results are amazing.

One of the newest remarkable must-dos here at the resort is to reserve a spa dinner. Guests can finish their relaxing spa treatments, then head to a private candlelit table overlooking the sparkling hydrotherapy pool while still in their comfortable robes. This multi-course small-plate romantic dinner accompanied by wine and cocktails becomes the perfect finish to a perfect day.

A sign in one of Cancun shops read “Este is el paraíso.” A stay at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach is just that—paradise.
