Conoro Tuesday is a good day to be a Nebraskan and an indie music fan. Local heroes Conor Oberst and his pals Tilly and the Wall have news to report. Mutual love in Omaha? Bank on it.

On Tuesday, Oberst launched his eponymous official site in preparation for his upcoming, self-produced, self-titled solo effort, due in early August. He’s also announced exhaustive world tour dates, starting with Sao Paulo on July 16 and wrapping months later on October 2 in Sydney. Conor Oberst, the album, was recorded in a mountain villa in Mexico with the help of a backing unit called The Mystic Valley Band, and those who cannot wait until August can tap exclusive streams of "Souled Out" and "Danny Callahan" on Oberst’s new site.

ianaMeanwhile, Tilly and the Wall‘s latest effort O dropped on Tuesday from Oberst’s label Team Love Records. As reported before in Listening Post, the kitchen-sink poppers, some of whom starred with Oberst in the band Park Ave., created a version of the "ABC Song" that will air on Sesame Street. The famed children’s show would probably pass on Tilly’s newest single "Pot Kettle Black," which offers bad words like "shit," "ho," "slut" and others in a charmingly offensive track that recalls The Go-Go’s as much as it does The Go! Team.

Like Oberst, Tilly and The Wall are also hitting the road in July, albeit as a seven-piece to fill out the sound. Hey, when your drummers are tap dancers who sing, you need all the help you can get.
