Well, this resignation takes the cake.
Chris Holmes, a UK Border Agency employee quit his job by icing his resignation letter on to a cake, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
In the letter, he said he wanted to devote more time to his growing cake business as well as his family.
“Having recently become a father I now realise how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me and other people happy,” Holmes wrote.
The confection was a carrot cake made with coconut, pecans and grapes and frosted in orange buttercream, according to the Mail.
The resignation first started making Internet waves when his relative Stuart Jackson tweeted a photo of it, writing, “So, my brother-in-law has resigned from his 9-to-5 job in spectacular fashion. Jerry Maguire meets Masterchef.”
The cake apparently didn’t leave a bitter taste in his former employer’s mouth. An official with the Border Force told the Mail, Holmes “leaves with our best wishes.”
