Seth Rogen is famous for his raunchy-yet-heartfelt comedies, for his borderline unparalleled ability to write dick jokes, and for being Hollywood’s most likeable (and also bankable) stoner. For all of that, we salute him. One thing he hasn't been? The best-dressed dude in the room. Throughout his career, he hasn’t exactly been known for having the sharpest sense of personal style. When Rogen first became a household name in the late aughts, thanks to the successes of Knocked Up and Superbad, he quickly became a god among the everymen who swore by plaid shirts and cargo shorts. Guys loved him in part for his lack of fashion sense, because it meant he dressed just like them: unassuming and unfussed. He was easy to identify with onscreen—and in life. So imagine our surprise to find that, a decade later, Rogen has quietly transformed into a seriously stylish everyman! As menswear has morphed from cult interest to something most dudes have basic awareness of, Rogen has slid right into menswear’s current relaxed-fit wave—and frankly, he’s never looked cooler.

It’s tricky to pinpoint exactly when this metamorphosis happened. But sometime within the past year, Rogen seems to have found a few different uniforms that work for him. The extremely technical term here is the "go-to fit": something you throw on in the dark and know you'll look great in. Rogen's main go-to fits are built on two solid platforms: a tasteful, usually colorful crewneck sweater, and a monochromatic combo of an unbuttoned shirt and plain tee. Rogen usually rounds out the look with well-fitting pants or nice denim, and a simple pair of sneakers. On paper, the fit sounds pretty plain, but that's the point: It is kind of plain, and looks all the better for it. Rogen comes off as well-dressed and put together without trying too hard. In other words: Dude looks stylish. Salute, Seth!

If you’re thinking of stealing a move out of Rogen’s playbook, it’s important to remember a few things. When you’re going this elevated-yet-simple route, the details matter, especially the fit. You're aiming for relaxed, not overly boxy or too tight. And don’t be afraid to splurge a little on key pieces, since those are the cornerstone of outfits like these. (Rogen seems to be pretty fond of sweaters from the pricey-but-worthy-of-investment minimalist label Acne Studios.) You’re probably not going to turn any heads with outfits like these, but being fashionable without being too flashy is a pleasure all its own. And against today’s backdrop of maxed-out menswear, keeping things low-key makes a refreshing kind of sense. It’s also worth noting that Rogen upped the hell out of his grooming game, too. He’s almost always rocking perfectly tousled hair (with a fresh cut) and an expertly trimmed beard—and if you don't nail those, all the colorful cashmere sweaters in the world won't help you.

This is all to say: We see you, Seth Rogen. We’re not sure if you’ve gotten some style tips from your buddy Jonah Hill, hired a new stylist, or if this is all your own doing, but it's working. Keep the fits coming.
