Shakira is so back, and so is her love life. After her 11-year relationship with Gerard Piqué ended with his (alleged) infidelity, the singer apparently started dating NBA player Jimmy Butler over the summer. And things appear to be going swimmingly, thankyousomuchforasking.
Sources told Us Weekly of the new romance, “They’re growing closer every day,” but added that Shakira isn’t in a hurry to settle down quite yet. “Shakira has a lot on her plate. Her main priority is her kids and career. But she’s definitely optimistic about finding love again.”

Shakira and Butler reportedly began dating over the summer. Shakira had just relocated to Florida in the wake of her breakup, and Butler plays for the Miami Heat. In July, per Entertainment Tonight, they were seen on an apparent dinner date at Novikov Restaurant & Bar in London, where sources said they looked “cozy.” In August a source told Us Weekly that the two had been getting “progressively closer” since they started dating. “Jimmy makes Shakira smile, and she’s really enjoying getting to know him on a deeper level,” the insider said. “She appreciates how he takes the lead in the relationship. He’s the one who makes plans with her, pursues her, and it makes her feel valued.”
