Though we remained to be convinced that the world truly needs a new Tom & Jerry movie, especially one which tries to squeeze CG versions of them into a live-action world. Still, it's going ahead, and Chloe Grace Moretz is on to play one of the humans they'll interact with.

Tim Story is in the director's chair for this one, with Collider bringing word that Moretz will be Kayla, a new employee at a posh hotel where Jerry has turned up and is threatening to ruin a glamorous wedding. She hires down-on-his-luck alley cat Tom to get rid of him, which, as is usually true, proves easier said than done. And they may need each other anyway, as Kayla's villainous boss is out to get both of them.

And fortunately, Warner Bros. has smartly decided that neither of the main characters will talk, which is something.

Moretz, most recently seen in Greta, will crop up as Wednesday Addams (her voice, at least) in the new, animated Addams Family movie due out on 25 October.
