Man Quits Job With Resignation Letter on a Cake

Here's something to warm your heart: Yesterday an official in the U.K's Border Agency wrote his resignation letter on a cake in which he announced his plans to expand his cake business. Chris Holmes' creative departure got public attention when his brother-in-law, who works in PR, tweeted it. Prior to working at Stansted Airport, Holmes worked with Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing.

From his resignation letter: "I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years." Holmes, aka "Mr. Cake," ended the letter with a link to his website. The site has been crashing this morning due to "capacity problems." Anyone thinking of ordering a quit-your-job-like-a-champ cake should probably check the site frequently throughout the day. He told the Guardian: "The writing was quite fiddly...
