A London man may have figured out the best possible way to quit a job. Instead of simply communicating his two weeks notice, Chris Holmes baked his boss a resignation cake.

According to the London Evening Standard, Chris Holmes had been working a job for the U.K. Border Agency at Stansted Airport. He had previously worked for Gordon Ramsay and had decided that it was time to pursue a job that would truly make him happy — running a cake business. Holmes also stated that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

The baker had his epiphany right around his 31st birthday. That was the day, April 15, that he presented the cake to his boss, with the date perfectly piped on the cake, of course. The beautiful dessert had a letter on it explaining Holmes' choice to quit and also telling his boss and colleagues to enjoy the cake.

He wrote, "Having recently become a father I now realise how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me and other people happy. For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years. I wish the organisation and my colleagues the best for the future and I remind you that, if you enjoy this cake, you can order more at www.mrcake.co.uk."

Not only was Holmes' cake the ideal method of quitting, but he also managed to squeeze a quick advertisement onto the very bottom of his creation. He included the website to his cake business, which has probably been doing extremely well since an image of the quitting cake has gone viral on Twitter.
