Move over, Jerry Maguire: this resignation stunt truly takes the cake.

In an effort to leave his part-time airport job on good terms, Chris Holmes expertly piped his 114-word resignation letter onto a cake.

He then delivered the masterpiece to his bosses with the Border Force at London Stansted Airport in the U.K., where he had been working for about seven years.

“I now realize how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me, and other people, happy!” he wrote in black letters on a spiced carrot cake with white icing.

After the birth of his son, Holmes, 31, decided it was time to devote himself entirely to his family and, not surprisingly, his flourishing cake business.

“… I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years,” he wrote.

Just like his creative resignation, Holmes’ cakes are playful twists on tradition, loaded with fondant zoo animals and colourful confections.

He may not be working at an airport anymore but cakes have been reportedly flying off the shelves since a photo of his creation -- taken by his brother-in-law and posted to Twitter -- went viral.
