El Cosmovitral is a botanical garden spanning approximately 3000 m². It is situated in the city of Toluca, which is the capital of the State of Mexico. This location makes it easily accessible for tourists visiting the region.
The Cosmovitral is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It took the artist Leopoldo Flores a year to design and create it with the help of stained glass artisans, who took three years to complete the project. The Cosmovitral consists of 48 stained glass windows, constructed using approximately 75 tons of metal structure, 45 tons of blown glass, and 25 tons of lead strips. It is made up of 500,000 fragments of glass in 28 different colors, making it a truly unique and impressive sight for visitors.
