Megan Thee Stallion is gearing up for an exciting 2024!

While speaking to PEOPLE about her partnership with Planet Fitness, the rapper, 28, also opens up about putting out new music following the release of her single "Cobra" in November.

Noting that the song "marked a new chapter of my life and career," Megan says, "I really wanted to show the rebirth of Megan and set that tone with the song and the video."

So when asked if the New Year has new music in store to show off the new Megan, the Grammy Award winner plays coy, stating: "All I can say is the Hotties should stay tuned."

"Cobra" marked Megan's first single since the lawsuit against her former record label 1501 Certified Entertainment was settled in October.

At the time, 1501 Certified Entertainment announced on social media that Megan and the label had "mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences" after a more than three-year legal battle. (PEOPLE then confirmed the case was settled in Megan's favor.)

"Cobra" was instead released through Megan's new independent music and entertainment entity, Hot Girl Productions, which she says presented a "new challenge" for her.

"But it’s been really exciting and fulfilling so far," Megan continues. "I really want to build an empire and grow as an entrepreneur — both in the music industry and in other areas like TV and film — so it’s been an enlightening experience."

Of the song overall, Megan tells PEOPLE, "I’m so happy that the message resonated with so many people."

"I really appreciated all the encouraging messages after the song dropped," she adds. "Life is all about growth and evolution, so I loved having the chance to share a new side of myself with the Hotties."

This year, Megan will perform on the Planet Fitness stage in Times Square during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024.

"It’s an honor to take part in this iconic New Year’s Eve tradition," she says. "Growing up, I would watch people ring in the New Year in Times Square on TV, so I’m just blessed to have the opportunity to perform on this national stage and kick off my new partnership with Planet Fitness in a special way."

"I can’t wait to see all my Hotties out there, and we’re definitely going to bring the heat to New York City," Megan adds.

As for her New Year's resolutions for 2024, the artist tells PEOPLE, "I just want to continue to be the best version of Megan Thee Stallion that I can be, hit my fitness goals and keep elevating as an artist, entrepreneur and philanthropist."
