Mexican Independence Day is about more than El Grito, the war for freedom from the Spanish, and a day to celebrate. It’s about a living people that are proud of who we are. Every one should be proud of who they are and there they come from. I have one parent that’s Black and one parent with Mexican heritage. I’m a Blaxican … and proud of it!
