Lizzo’s voluminous VMAs 2022 red carpet look sparks memes

These jokes are “Good As Hell.”

Lizzo was one of the earliest celebrities to arrive on the VMAs 2022 red carpet Sunday, and in an outfit that’s got everyone on social media talking.

The “Truth Hurts” hitmaker, 34, seemed destined to be the night’s most-memed attendee in her voluminous navy blue Jean Paul Gaultier Couture gown.

Lizzo accessorized with dramatic Lael Osness gloves and Jennifer Fisher jewels, including multi-hoop earrings and even a faux lip ring.

Celebrity makeup artist, Alexx Mayo, matched her deep navy pout to her dress and gloves, creating her mesmerizing look with a range of Charlotte Tilbury products including Glow Toner, Magic Cream, Beautiful Skin Foundation and the new Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer.

Lizzo’s oversized look received mixed reviews on Twitter, where viewers likened it to a garbage bag, bed linens, “Little Mermaid” villain Ursula and more.

An Ursula resemblance was deemed uncanny, as both rocked shades of blue, bold lips and strapless gowns. “Who let lizzo dress like Ursula?” a Twitter account bemoaned.

“Now i love lizzo but why did she just jump in a trashbag and call it a day?” someone asked.

Joked a fourth, ”At least Lizzo will be able to take a nap at the show if it’s get boring since she brought her comforter.”

The rapper’s look also received comparisons to Missy Elliot’s “The Rain” music video, in which she wore an instantly iconic black blow-up suit that’s still inspiring Halloween costumes today.

Earlier in the day, the Texan hit back at comedian Aries Spears, who came under fire for comparing Lizzo to the “s–t emoji” and saying, “You know what kills me about women is the hypocrisy and the contradiction,” while sweating profusely.

Her supporters were quick to defend the body positive musician

Lizzo is performing her new single “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” at the awards show tonight and will most likely change into another meme-worthy ensemble later in the evening.
