Miss International 2010 Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela
Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria of India
The Quartet is now complete! The Big 4 beauty pageants of 2010 have already crowned their Queens as follows:
MISS UNIVERSE 2010: Jimena Navarrete of Mexico
MISS WORLD 2010: Alexandria Mills of the USA
MISS INTERNATIONAL 2010: Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela
MISS EARTH 2010: Nicole Faria of India
And what do these four gorgeous ladies have in common? They all come from pageant powerhouse countries!
Let’s see which nation/s will shine brightest in 2011 but this early, it looks like Venezuela and Mexico won’t be letting their guards down as their representatives for next year have already been selected and boy, are they FIERCE! đ
Jimena Navarrete is living the celebrity life in New York right now. After winning the Miss Universe 2010 crown last month, she was whisked to the Big Apple to start her one year stay in one of Donald Trump’s upscale apartment towers.
She recently guested on The Late Show with David Letterman. Although I have qualms about how her segment was made to look like a comic list of “Ways Miss Universe Plans To Make The World A Better Place” that is not entirely befitting of a beauty titleholder, I reckon it is acceptable in this day and age when the pageant needs all the promo and publicity to up its popularity.
Interestingly, Jimena spoke in straight English albeit accented. She must have practiced her lines well before coming out on TV.
Two Miss Universes cheek-to-cheek: Miss Universe 1991 Lupita Jones and her protege Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete - rare gems of Mexico!
Right after the Miss Universe 2010 finals, the 5th placer is even outshining the winner with the answer she gave to the final question.
Venus Raj has suddenly out-twitted and out-trended Jimena Navarrete that even ABC News covered her “miss-perfect” reply to William Baldwin’s question in the Top 5 – “What is one big mistake that youâve made in your life and what did you do to make it right?â
The video above only proves how difficult answering the question is when you’re in front of a live audience in a show beamed worldwide, let alone answering the same in the middle of a one-on-one interview.
But if I were Venus, this is how I would answer the same…
“ In my 22 years of existence, I am actually committing that big mistake right now by not using a Tagalog interpreter since English is only my second language – my third even since Bikolano and Tagalog take first and second. But having someone translate my answer would only waste the precious little time I have left to give a reply. I’m just happy that I’m sending across my message loud and clear.” đ
Anyways, here is a video message of Venus Raj to all her fans and supporters around the world…

When Venus glided on the ramp for the Top 15 swimsuit competition, everyone knew that she would be a shoo-in for the next round. (Photo credit:Getty Images)

Next came the evening gown competition for the Top 10 where Venus elegantly presented her silver gown. She wound up 5th and got the last ticket to the Top 5. (Photo credit: Getty Images)
When Venus was called as one of the Top 5, tension was mounting inside her. She claims to be the type of person who gets more nervous when she thinks to herself that she will indeed get nervous in being interviewed onstage. And this one is truly a 'major major' thing for her. (Photo credit: Getty Images)
And nervous she got. During the final question, she admitted that she was already at a loss for quality words to relate. She did her best despite the tremendous pressure boiling inside her. And this image gave birth to the Philippines’ latest catchphrase: “major major”
After the final question, Venus could only watch the opportunity of winning the crown slip away from her grasp. Mexico's Jimena Navarrete stamped her cool demeanor and tight grip on the judges' attention. (Photo credit: Getty Images)
In the end, Venus still made the whole Philippine nation and all Pinoys around the world proud of her achievement. Her 4th Runner-Up finish ended the drought of placements in the Miss Universe Pageant. And for this, a 'major major' thank you is in order! (Photo credit: Getty Images)

Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
