A very first (successfully) graft on Pereskia

Just wanna test turning my post from Thai to English ☺.

Grafting is the fastest way to accelerate the growth of Cacti. Per my little experience, it can boost up to 3x growth rate (and may be more) than the normal seedling process. The grafting can be done several ways, most of the grafted plant we see in our local market using thick rootstock which suitable for the plant that already growth and having some ages. But the one that I’ve tried was the graft from a young seedling plant (2 — 8 weeks). I’ve choose Pereskia as a rootstock since it’s quite easy to grow from the fresh cut and its tissue also soft enough to serve the young seedling plant. The use of Pereskia is quite popular in my country but it might not able to serve a plant for its whole life, as far as I know it’s good for only few years (or less).

I did try four grafting but unfortunately that only got one success, picture below. Maybe the plant I used was too young or maybe I did something wrong. Anyway will try it again next time !

Grafting comparison of the 1st day and 40 days later comparing to the original pot at the same age
