Obituary of Sun Pyong Lee

We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore; We did our best to the end, 'Til we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will Forget you Father dear. Sun Pyong Lee was born on July 30, 1955 in Masan, South Korea. He was raised in South Korea and started his working life as a DJ in a PyongTaek nightclub, near an Army base where Barbara was stationed. They met, fell in love and were married in Seoul on March 23, 1981. He immigrated to the US in September 1981 whereupon Lee was able to fulfill his dream of owning his own business. He was a car dealer for 28 years in Tacoma, WA and became a self-learned auto mechanic, performing nearly all of his own auto repairs on his inventory. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, travelling, singing Karaoke, caring meticulously for his lawn, thoroughly enjoyed dining at the many fine Korean restaurants in Tacoma and took pleasure in introducing Korean specialties to his American friends, to include his most beloved Kimchee and Soju. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his quick smile, strong will and generous nature. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2012, fought a long and hard battle and passed away in the morning on March 28, 2013 in University Place, WA.
