Former AC Milan and US International Oguchi Onyewu struggling to get back into Soccer

Poor Gooch.

Oguchi Onyewu is looking for a new club after failing to impress at recently promoted Scottish Premiership outfit Glasgow Rangers.

Onyewu has played across Europe - Scotland, Belgium, England, Portugal, Spain, France and The Netherlands and Italy (for our Rossoneri). The American remains an enigma as clubs genuinely seem interested in signing him, but not to play him.

This is best represented by his year and a half stay in Milan where he made no league appearances for the club but made headlines for fighting with Zlatan over some shoddy tackling in training from the Swede superstar.

Since leaving Milan in 2011, the former U.S Soccer Athlete of the Year has only made 49 club appearances despite featuring for six different teams across Europe.

Despite his relative failure to make an impact at club level, Oguchi cemented himself into the U.S side for both the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup campaigns and even ended up earning 69 caps for the Stars and Stripes.

Nice.

While ‘Gooch’ didn’t feature much for the Rossoneri, it’s sad to see a former member of the Rossoneri struggling to get game time. Let’s hope it turns round for him soon.
