Abstract

The arrangement includes reference marking points (20,20',20'') located at a boundary of a danger space (10). A computer is coupled to the rotary radar distance meter (18). The computer memory holds data related to a distance and angle of the marking points, as well as the sector reference data of the scanned region. The computer signals objects (22) in the danger space determined by a correlator comparing the reference data with the scanned ones, and by a preset threshold value. Preferably the radar distance meter contains an FM continuous-strike transmitter.

Description

The present invention relates to an arrangement for monitoring a Danger area according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such an arrangement should preferably be used for automatic Monitoring of the danger area of a rail system delimited by a full barrier.

Both standing and moving obstacles and objects should be in the danger zone from a certain size regardless of their nature, d. H. metallic or not metallic, can be detected. Furthermore, the arrangement should be independent of the weather, i.e. H. from Rain, fog, snow, etc., be ready for use.

This problem is solved in accordance with the characteristic features of Claim 1. Further advantageous refinements of the arrangement according to the invention can be found in the dependent claims.

Fig. 5 ein Signaldiagramm zur Erläuterung der Arbeitsweise der Anordnung. Fig. 5 is a signal diagram for explaining the operation of the arrangement.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 is a square risk space 10 having the shape of a rhomboid (parallelogram) in the present case, since a road 12, the tracks 14, 14 intersects' at a 90 ° angle deviating by two barriers 16, 16 'delimited. In a corner point of the rhomboid, a rotating radar range finder 18 is arranged, and in the remaining corner points triple mirrors 20 , 20 ', 20 ''are arranged to limit the danger zone. If necessary, active elements can also be arranged instead of the triple mirror. Furthermore, it is possible to store sector elements of the danger zone in terms of length and angle and to limit the scanning of the danger zone to the stored sector elements by means of electronic means.

In the case of existing triple mirrors, the data relating to the distance and the angle of the triple mirrors from the radar range finder are stored in a computer when it is started up for the first time. The computer calculates the specific distance to each angular position and saves it. In normal operation, the sensor then only scans the stored space with each pass. The individual profile of the substrate, e.g. B. divided into sectors of 10 , can be stored as a reference in order to then monitor the danger zone for objects occurring in a correlation process by comparison, wherein certain threshold values can be used as a basis for the assessment.

There is an object 22 of a certain size, for. B. a vehicle or a person on the road surface 24 in the danger zone 10 , this object is detected and z. B. the closing of the barriers 16 , 16 'prevented.

According to FIG. 3, the radar range finder 18 , protected in a round sensor dome 30 , is arranged on a turntable 32 . The sensor dome 30 consists of an all-round cladding 34 and a hood 36 , with only one radar window 38 , which is matched to the scanning range, remaining open or z. B. is closed by an acrylic window. The radar range finder 18 with patch or horn antenna is arranged on the turntable 32 . The turntable 32 is driven by a motor, the position of the turntable 32 by a position encoder, e.g. B. resolver is detected. The power supply, the drive signals and receive signals from the radar range finder 18 are transmitted via a slip ring, preferably an inductive slip ring, the activation and control of the rotation unit and interface electronics being supplied or evaluated by an electronics module 40 which is arranged in the sensor dome 30 . Motor, resolver (position encoder or encoder), inductive slip ring and housing with bearing form the rotation unit.

According to Fig. 4 of the radar range sensor includes an antenna portion 42, a transmitting / receiving section 44, a preamplifier and filter section 46, a converting portion 48, and a processing section 50.

The antenna section 42 comprises e.g. B. a horn antenna or patch antenna 52 , which also serves as a transmitting and receiving antenna. A Gunn oscillator 54 is used in the transmit / receive section 44 , the frequency of which is modulated in a voltage-controlled manner via a varactor diode integrated in its cavity resonator. The signal received by the horn antenna 52 is fed to a mixer 56 in section 44 and demodulated with the transmission frequency. The demodulated signal is fed to a preamplifier / bandpass filter 58 in section 46 and then fed to processing section 50 via an analog / digital converter 60 in converter section 48 .

The processing section 50 is essentially predetermined by a digital signal processor. This includes a digital modulation source 64 , the modulation signal of which is applied to the Gunn oscillator 54 via a digital / analog converter 62 .

The digital received signal coming from the converter section 48 is subjected to a Fast Fourier transform 66 in the digital signal processor in order to determine a power density spectrum 68 . By correlating the power density spectra stored in a memory 70 with the power density spectrum currently received in a correlator 72 , the objects and their distance can be determined which cause a hazard message.

Fig. 5, the operation of the radar illustrates the method used, which can be described as a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW). Here, the frequency f (t) is plotted over the time axis t.

B. 24.050 GHz and the frequency deviation Δf is z. B. 0.15 GHz. The transmitted signal is represented by an excellent line and the echo signal by a dashed line, the latter lagging by the running time 2r / c (r = distance, c = speed of light). At every point in time t, the frequency f (t) of the echo deviates from the transmission frequency by an amount f D. This intermediate frequency f D is formed in the push-pull mixer 56 by multiplying the transmission frequency by the reception frequency. If the modulation period T m = 1 / f m and the frequency deviation Δf are fixed, the following relationship applies to f D :

From this relationship it can be seen that with a constant frequency deviation Δf and constant differential frequency f D the target distance r is inversely proportional to the modulation frequency f m .
